4D Obstetrical Ultrasound Unit (OUU)

The OUU is home to a state-of-the-art 4D, real-time ultrasound imaging system, which is primarily used in analyzing fetal development. A 4D Ultrasound Scan at the Cradle is the most technologically advanced scan that is currently available anywhere in the world and it is very different to, a standard ultrasound scan that one may receive from any other hospital. You can actually see your child wink, blink, smile and yawn or even suck it's thumb!!! You can see the baby’s facial features and possible characteristics. Often, excited parents claim that they can already see family resemblances. On your standard hospital scan you would never see this wonderful first glimpse of your child.

Many parents also say they feel it is an almost spiritual experience, many of them find themselves in tears at the first glimpse of there beautiful baby to be. The new ultrasound technique allows us to produce 4D images of your baby and display them on the screen. The 4D technique allows us to update the image in real time and allow you to see your baby, moving in 4D. We provide high quality imaging on DVDs’ to ensure you can cherish your moments for years to come.
